Back in time은
너드커넥션이라는 밴드에 입문하게 만든 곡입니다.

왠지 잔잔한 노래를 할 것 같은 이름이라는 핑계로
그리고 가장 유명한 곡인 ‘좋은 밤 좋은 꿈’이 제 취향이 아니란 편협한 이유로
너드커넥션의 노래를 제대로 들어보지 않았던 작년의 저는,
친구의 차에서 반복재생되는 이 곡을 강제로 듣게 되고
사랑에 빠지게 됩니다.

이런 노래를 몰랐다니
인생을 손해 보며 산 듯한 소감까지 들었죠.

특히 처음에는 2절의 ‘Was is just' 뒤에 나오는
일렉기타의 벤딩에 반했습니다.

그 후 너드커넥션의 ‘그대만 있다면’, ‘대나무숲’, ‘29‘, ’Hymn of the Birds'에도 중독되어
여전히 좋아하는 노래로 남아있습니다.

한두 곡만 들어보고
그 가수가 내 취향인지 아닌지를 속단하는 일은
앞으론 없도록 해야겠습니다.
